"What We Did in 2008"
by Rhythm 'n QUE

2008 was Rhythm 'n QUE's first full season on the competition circuit, and what a wild ride it was!  Our first GC, our first trip to the Jack -- it was, truly, a "dream season".

RnQ finished out the 2008 competition season with 3 Grand Championships (Modesto CA, Durango CO and Viejas/Alpine CA), and one Reserve Grand Championship (Taylor AZ). Over the course of 13 competitions in six states, the team racked up 12 top-ten finishes, with 9 of those being in the top four. These results earned the team a rank of 20th overall in the nation by The Pickled Pig, and 25th in the nation overall by the Kansas City Barbecue Society.

And then there was that trip to Lynchburg, Tennessee! Drawn by the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational as the geographic reps for the state of Arizona, Rhythm 'n QUE brought home a trophy for Second Place Chicken at one of the most prestigious BBQ competitions in the world.

The year concluded with the team earning the designation of 2008 California BBQ Association Team of the Year. This award is especially meaningful to Alexa, a California native.

RnQ looks ahead to improving their performance further in the 2009 season, revisiting favorite competitions and venturing to some new ones. See you out on the campaign trail!
